According to Chinese customs, the export of Russian metals to China is rapidly increasing, despite the sanctions imposed by the West. In the first five months of 2025, aluminum shipments grew by 56%, copper by 66%, and nickel even doubled.
Russian companies, such as 'Rusal' and 'Norilsk Nickel', are actively adapting to the new conditions. To rid themselves of surplus, 'Rusal' is sending iron to the Chinese market, while 'Norilsk Nickel' has already entered into a partnership agreement with local enterprises. However, sanctions continue to complicate the situation: London and Chicago have banned Russian metals, and the European Union is actively pushing Russian producers out of its markets.
Russian metals are quickly conquering the Chinese market, increasing export volumes even amid the sanctions. Companies from Russia, which are actively adapting to the new conditions, are seeking opportunities to boost sales in China, despite restrictions from Western countries.
