Dollar and Euro Exchange Rate in June: Ukrainians Were Told to Expect Surprises.

The Director of the Department of Financial Markets and Investment Activities of Globus Bank, Taras Lesovyy, stated that no significant changes in the currency market of Ukraine are expected during the first decade of June. The dollar exchange rate will fluctuate within the range of 41.6-41.9 hryvnias, and the euro will range from 45.5 to 47 hryvnias.
The expert emphasized that there will be no sharp imbalances between the demand and supply of currency, so no panic in the market is expected. The NBU will ensure a balance between the need for currency and its availability through currency operations, with the bank's interventions likely not exceeding 800 million dollars weekly.
- The permissible range of exchange rate fluctuations in the interbank market is: 41.4-41.9 hryvnias per dollar and 45.5-47 hryvnias per euro.
- The average difference between the interbank and cash market rates will be 0 hryvnias.
- Average weekly exchange rate deviations will be 1-1.5% from the starting rate of the week.
Lesovyy emphasized that in June, currency indicators will be 'variably stable' without significant changes. This is compounded by the uncertainty related to the markets' reaction to the 50-percent tariffs imposed by the USA on European goods and the subsequent steps of the EU.
Conclusion
According to experts, at the beginning of June, the Ukrainian currency market will remain stable, with no significant fluctuations in the exchange rate. It is expected that the National Bank of Ukraine will actively intervene through currency operations to ensure market stability.
