In 2025, Ukrainians will be able to receive compensation for overpayment for utility services. The State Consumer Service reported that after conducting 98 inspections of utility companies, violations were found in 86 cases. The most deficiencies were identified in the water supply and sewage sectors.
As a result of the inspections, 62 orders were issued and 42 fines were imposed for a total of 1.59 million hryvnias. 43 officials were also held accountable.
Companies have committed to return 1.16 million hryvnias of overcharged funds to consumers. The Deputy Head of the State Consumer Service emphasized the need to respond quickly to illegal price increases. 'Transparency in calculations is a fundamental right of every citizen,' he stressed.
The State Consumer Service calls on all citizens with questions about utility payments to contact them and file complaints through the official website of the agency or in person.
