Rubio announced radical changes in US trade policy based on 'fairness'.

The US is changing trade relations with partners
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the United States intends to significantly change its trade relations with major partners. This announcement came after the stock markets reacted negatively to President Trump's tariff policy.
To conclude new trade agreements with countries, the US plans to conduct bilateral negotiations after achieving a 'basic level of fairness'. Marco Rubio emphasized that this is a global decision, not directed against specific countries or unions but concerning all partners.
'This is a global decision. It is not against Canada, not against Mexico, not against the EU; it is against everyone. Then, based on this new baseline of fairness and reciprocity, we plan to engage in bilateral negotiations with countries around the world regarding new trade agreements that will be beneficial for both sides,' Rubio noted.
Marco Rubio also stated that the US will respond to those countries that are hostile towards them and have imposed tariffs. The Secretary did not specify the details of the new trade agreements but emphasized that he is not satisfied with the current status quo and plans to establish a new level of fairness before negotiations begin.
This decision by the US has caused turmoil in the stock markets, but the future consequences are still unknown.
