Melting glaciers could harm Ukraine: which cities are at risk of flooding.

PhD in Geography, Vira Balabukh, warns that the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases may affect the level of the Black Sea. According to her, this could lead to the flooding of the city of Vilkovo and have negative consequences for the city of Odessa, as well as losses of coastal areas due to erosion.
The rise in the level of the Black Sea could cause the flooding of the city of Vilkovo. Odessa may also suffer from this. Many regions in southern Ukraine may lose their coastal areas due to erosion.
Global warming may also affect Ukraine, particularly the increase in average temperature and changes in agriculture. According to Balabukh's research, this could have both positive and negative consequences, among which are risks of losses from temperature fluctuations and climate changes at the local level.
However, it is important to remember that the rise in the level of the Black Sea and global changes could have serious impacts on Ukraine's ecosystem and economy, so scientists urge careful consideration of the human impact on the environment.
