U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he will continue to support Ukraine but expressed doubts about its possible accession to NATO. He made this comment during a conversation with journalists. Trump agreed with the opinion that such a move is unrealistic.
The U.S. President also stated that the United States wants to provide assistance to Ukraine. It is known that Trump plans to meet with Putin in Saudi Arabia and involve the Saudi prince in this meeting.
Trump believes that a ceasefire is possible in the near future and elections should take place in Ukraine. However, he is doubtful about the return of territories that were captured by Russia.
Trump also held a phone call with Zelensky, during which the possibilities of achieving peace and cooperation in the field of technology, including drone production, were discussed. Joint actions to counter Russian aggression were agreed upon.
Information from CNN indicates that Trump appointed Senator Marco Rubio as one of the U.S. representatives for negotiations with Russia regarding the war in Ukraine. The Secretary of State emphasized the importance of a fair peace that would guarantee Ukraine's sovereignty and independence.
