In Kyiv, the traffic rules for transport during air raid alerts will be reviewed.

The Kyiv Defense Council will consider the issue of resuming public transport in the event of an air raid alert, said the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко.
According to him, the meeting of the Defense Council will discuss "developments regarding the functioning of ground public transport during air raid alerts." Tkachенко promised to inform citizens about further steps in the near future.
Restrictions on the movement of public transport during air raid alerts have been in effect in Kyiv since August 1, 2022. This decision was made by the city's Defense Council at the recommendation of military personnel and emergency services specialists. Although Kyiv residents demanded to lift this restriction, all requests were rejected by the city authorities.
Changes in transport during air raid alerts
In May 2023, a rule was introduced that ground transport would take passengers to the nearest shelters during the announcement of air raid alerts. However, Kyiv residents demanded refunds for their fares if they had to get off due to the alarm sirens. Nevertheless, alternative transport, such as suburban trains, minibus taxis, and taxis continued to operate in the city during air raid alerts, compensating for the ban on city transport.
