Tragedy in Ansan: 4 people dead

In the city of Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, a newly constructed bridge collapsed, resulting in the death of at least four people and injuring six others. The incident occurred during construction when 10 workers were on the structure, including both Koreans and Chinese. So far, the bodies of two people have been recovered, while others died from cardiac arrest and multiple injuries.

Immediate response to the tragedy

Upon receiving the report of the collapse, emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and began rescue operations. Firefighters, fire equipment, and helicopters were dispatched to assist in rescuing the victims.

Responsibility of Hyundai Engineering & Construction

During the investigation into the cause of the bridge collapse, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, the contractor of the construction, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and took responsibility for the tragedy.

Another incident in South Korea

A fire broke out on a passenger plane in South Korea that was preparing for departure to Hong Kong. All 169 passengers and crew members were able to safely evacuate the aircraft.

Fire in Kyiv

There was also a fire in a multi-storey building in Novobilichi, Kyiv. Rescuers quickly extinguished the fire.
