On the morning of June 14, it became known about the night drone attack on the 'Novokuybyshevsky Catalyst Plant' in Samara Region, Russia, reports 'Glavcom'. The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, confirmed the fact of the drone attack on the region but noted that the strikes were aimed at the plant. He also added that as a result of the attack, no one was injured, and the plant did not suffer significant damage.
The 'Novokuybyshevsky Catalyst Plant' is part of the 'Rosneft' structure and specializes in the production and regeneration of catalysts for oil refining and petrochemistry. The plant produces both serial and experimental batches of catalysts, as well as materials for hydroprocessing. An experimental complex for developing and testing new technologies operates here. That same night, drones struck the 'Nevinnomyssk Azot' enterprise in the Stavropol Territory. This company is the largest producer of nitrogen fertilizers and ammonia in Russia and is part of the 'EuroChem' group. The production capacities of 'Nevinnomyssk Azot' exceed 1 million tons of ammonia and 1.4 million tons of ammonium nitrate per year. The production of urea at this plant reaches 0.89 million tons per year. Such attacks on large industrial facilities can have serious consequences for the industry and the country’s economy. It is important to take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure the safety of industrial enterprises. After the night drone attacks, which resulted in strikes on the 'Novokuybyshevsky Catalyst Plant' and 'Nevinnomyssk Azot', outrage is rising regarding the potential threats to industrial enterprises in Russia.
