Ukrainians identified the main goal of Russia in the war.

The majority of Ukrainians believe that Russia wishes to destroy Ukraine, commit physical genocide, and eliminate statehood. This is reported by 'Glavkom' referencing the results of a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
According to the survey results, 66% of Ukrainians believe that Russia aims to destroy Ukraine: Russia wants to either commit physical genocide against Ukrainians (28%) or seize most of Ukraine's territory and destroy statehood and the nation (38%).
At the same Time, 14% believe that Russia intends to seize most territory and establish a puppet government. 7% believe that Russia aims to capture all of Donbas, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia.
«Thus, 87% of Ukrainians believe that Russia has no intention of stopping at the already occupied territories,» the report states.
Only 4% of Ukrainians believe that Russia intends to only retain the already occupied territories. Regarding 3% of respondents, they believe that Russia aims only to 'denazify' and demilitarize Ukraine. The remaining 7% did not respond to this question.
The survey was conducted from February 14 to March 4, 2025. It involved 1029 adult respondents.
Citizens of Great Britain, France, Germany, and Poland also participated in a survey regarding a possible Russian attack on European countries in the coming years.
The majority of respondents in Great Britain, France, Germany, and Poland believe that Russia may attack one of the European countries in the coming years. About 60% of the French, 68% of the British and Poles, and 53% of the Germans support this opinion.
It is worth noting that the trust of Ukrainians in Zelensky has increased following rising tensions between Ukraine and the USA.
