During the Fair Play conference, Foreign Minister Andriy Sypyga expressed the opinion that frozen Russian assets should be used directly, not just their interest. He proposed directing these funds towards purchasing weapons for Ukraine, investments in defense, and the reconstruction of the country.
'It is Time to move from using interest to using the assets themselves and direct these funds towards purchasing weapons for Ukraine, investments in Ukrainian defense, and the reconstruction of Ukraine,' Sypyga stated.Andriy Sypyga emphasized the global nature of the Russian threat and its danger to Europe and the Euro-Atlantic space. He called for decisions that could stop this threat, stressing the importance of unity and support for Ukraine from partners.
'To stop this threat, we need to make bold and unconventional decisions. Our unity and support for Ukraine from our partners must be our guiding principle,' he emphasized.The Foreign Minister urged a review of the approaches to using frozen Russian assets, directing them towards the purchase of weapons and investments in Ukrainian defense and the reconstruction of the country. He also emphasized the need for unity and support from allies to effectively combat Russian aggression.
