At the same Time, Germany, which has already shut down all its nuclear power plants, has stated its refusal to use nuclear energy. Bruegel expert Georg Zachmann noted that nuclear energy remains a very controversial technology in European electricity production. According to the analytical center Ember, renewable energy sources are becoming more popular, but nuclear production is also growing.
