Mobile Communication by Passport: Ukraine Prepares New Rules for All Subscribers.

According to the Ukrainian Committee on National Security, it is planned to introduce mandatory identification for all mobile communication users, including existing subscribers. This is justified by the threat posed by enemy drones that use the networks of Ukrainian telecommunications companies and anonymous SIM cards. This decision was discussed at a meeting of the subcommittee on cybersecurity and the protection of government communications.
'Certain practical steps have been outlined to address the issue of the use of UAVs through mobile operators,' - quote from a representative of the Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence.
Participants in the discussion also considered the possibility of temporarily blocking mobile networks in areas where enemy drones could be used. Some details of the innovations are kept secret for confidentiality reasons, but it is confirmed that work on the solution is ongoing.
The head of the subcommittee on cybersecurity warned that over 80% of mobile communication users lack official identification, which poses a serious threat to both national and financial security. He also noted that such a situation could lead to theft of money and data.
In the process of implementing mandatory identification of mobile subscribers, the goal is to protect the national and financial security of citizens of Ukraine from potential threats from enemy drones.
