Strikes on Russian refineries yield results: downtimes significantly exceeded the plan.

Primary oil processing volumes at Russian refineries in downtime increased in December by 0.38 million tons or 34.9% compared to the previous plan, reaching 1.48 million tons.
According to sources from Reuters, the growth is attributed to ongoing repairs and technological stops at some primary units at the 'Ufaneftekhim', Komsomolsk, Volgograd, and Novoshakhtinsk refineries.
However, thanks to this, primary processing volumes at the refineries have increased. Nonetheless, downtime of primary capacities decreased in December by 0.93 million tons or 40.5% compared to November.
The total volume of downtimes in primary processing at Russian refineries for January-December 2024 is 41.1 million tons, which accounts for 12.6% of total capacity.
This year, Russian refineries have been in downtime more than in 2023. The volume of primary capacities going out of operation in 2024 exceeded last year's indicator by 5.2 million tons or 14.4%, when it was 35.9 million tons.
