The Kyiv Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of the Pechersk District Court in the case of former advisor to the Deputy Minister of Defense Dana Yarova. The court requires her to publicly refute false information about the State Audit Office that tarnished the reputation of this agency.
Yarova criticized the State Audit Office, claiming that auditors harm the army by complicating supplies to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Her opinion was that every profit of suppliers for the Ministry of Defense is seen as a loss for the state, which could lead to criminal cases and damage cooperation with businesses.
This court ruling confirms that spreading false information can have serious consequences for the agency and lead to lawsuits.
The court ruling shows that unfounded accusations can harm not only the reputation of individual institutions, but also threaten their activities, cooperation with partners, and cause serious legal consequences.Read also
